Has anyone heard or seen anything recently re: John Mayer's new PRS guitar that is forthcoming (that one that John said Paul would not allow him to show the front of yet?)

He did a recent periscope that someone uploaded to youtube where he shows off and plays a new PRS that he says is a "close too being done" prototype of a potential signature run.

He is already using it, here with Chris Botti. Looks like CU22/McCarty, SC245 bridge, upper horn 3 way switch, 4 knobs. He sounds amazing

Thanks for posting the video. I agree, his tone sounds great. My guess is that we will have to wait for NAMM to see it up close.

I'll be blunt, I don't really know much from JM. I've heard a couple songs on the radio, and didn't really care for them. And someone posted a video on a Van Halen forum where John played Panama on one of those $25,000 EVH Frankenstein relics. I didn't dig that at all. But I thought that tune was awesome. Very tasty playing and killer tone. Kudos to JM. We need more good players, especially in this digital age.

Jump online and check out "Born and Raised" or the John Meyer Trio stuff live. His pop radio stuff is ok but it's just that. Treacly and formulaic.His blues work is stellar and he is an amazing player. I was glad he took two years off to get himself together, he did a lot of growing up and decided to not wrote to make hits but rather to make himself happy.
