I have found "my" guitar - the PRS S2 McCarty 594. I prefer the Thinline model, but also love a good maple-capped model as well. Here's what I've currently got:

S2 594 Thinline in Vintage Mahogany - my main guitar. I LOVE this thing. Zero complaints about this guitar. It is perfect for me.

S2 594 refinished in dark olive drab with SD '59 pickups. I might switch these out for some Bare Knuckle Riff Raffs after having a great experience with them. This is probably the best straight up rock guitar I've ever laid my hands on. It is absolutely killer.

S2 594 refinished in hot pink with BK Riff Raffs - this one might be on the chopping block, simply because the neck is too big for my preference. The guitar is awesome in every other way, though.

And now for the part where I've been a bad boy - I've always lusted after a Vintage Cherry Thinline. I finally found one at a decent price and it is on the way.

Like I said, I've been a bad, bad boy.

And the 594s already at home:

Glad you found what you wanted! Different pickups, or even just keeping them in different tunings is reason enough for multiple models - nothing "bad" about it
Yep, I keep the Vintage Mahogany and Olive drab in 1/2 step down tuning, but in different locations. The Pink one is in open G, and the red one will probably wind up in open E.
LookS Good to me.

:D
We are on the same page. These Thinlines are like the Best SGs ever made.

Exactly what I was thinking. Great looking guitar. @Family Man I hope you enjoy it a long time.

When are we going to get to the part about being a "bad boy"? ;)

Wow, thanks for all the kind comments! I'm having a lot of fun with these, that is for sure.

I really dig that dark-brown/vintage-mahogany one! Those knobs you put on there are perfect for it, too.
Thanks! And that's a bad photo of it. A good photo would show the wood grain through the finish. It is a truly gorgeous guitar.

The red one arrived today. It is identical in almost every way to the vintage mahogany model I have. I realize they are the same model, but the neck, the tone, even the setup is nearly the same out of the box. I guess it’s just a shock that I’ve found a guitar as good as my favorite guitar (after going through some other thinlines that didn’t speak to me). I’m already in love. And it’s far prettier in person compared to the store photos IMO.
