Ok, this will have to stop. I bought an awesome Artist Package DC 594 earlier this month, and have fallen in love with it. It's just such a musical instrument, and a joy to play. I had a Les Paul that I really did like, but was just too heavy to gig with for me. Nearing my 6th decade, I try to be a bit kinder to my back when I can. Soooooooo...

I started looking at the SC594s as a FUTURE purchase. I've had a few watched on Reverb and Ebay, but the prices were keeping me safe. And then... you guessed it... THE DEAL appears. A 2018 SC 594 for under $1700 from a reputable seller.

DONE.

Got it home and cleaned up and it plays like a, well, 594! Pic below is from the seller, but it's shiny as can be now with a fresh polish on it. The LP has gone to a new home and this one hangs out with its older brother. Merry Christmas to me!

By the way, I kind of learned something with this, my first ever solid color PRS. I always figured that, like Gibson, the solid color guitars would be sprayed over really plain (or just flat ugly) top wood as a way to use all of the available wood stock. Apparently this is not the PRS practice! I can see, both from the edge binding on the body and even directly on the top, that the maple beneath the gleaming blackness of the top is flamed from side to side. I can think of no other guitar manufacturer that would use such a piece of wood under a solid color top. Just one more impressive thing added to the litany of wow moments I have had since I began playing PRS a little over a decade ago. There is something about craftsmanship at that level that lets you know they sweat the details whether you can see them or not. Truly a cut above the rest.

No kidding! Just got my DC 594SH, wondering what the 2020 version in SC would be like...

Oh yeah! That "Eye Of Sauron" one is still out there on Reverb, calling my name...
Yeah, those demos of the 2020 SC594 with TCI pickups are quite stellar!
