Not New Guitar day - better!

I got to play with other HUMANS.

Yup, after months with nothing but youtube lessons, backing tracks and playing along to songs.... I got to play with real live people! Was going to be just a couple of hours but ended up going 3 and lots of talk after, it went well.

This was the remnants of one of the working bands in town. Two of the band members moved away...Nothing lets you see "where you are" like getting to play with people.

Man I love the interaction of playing with musicians...and me .

Yep when you lock in during a jam there's no greater feeling in music. I jammed with my neighbour the over the weekend and mid week/last week, it's true what they say...time flies when you are having fun, doesn't matter what you are playing.

So easy to get lost in our little "virtual world"...

It's easy to forget - or at least let it fade to the back - that music is about communication with others.

I knew nerves might be an issue and I've seem jams wander "what do you want to play-> I don't know, what do you want to play?". I didn't want to get stuck there so I made a list of a few songs that I thought might work so I'd have something to pull from if there was a lull.

I knew a couple the singer liked so I made sure I was ready there...

Oh and I showed up on time WITH BEER.

That never hurts! lol - but really, good for you. I probably take it for granted to some extent since I've been jamming in a good and cohesive environment for a very long time. There's nothing like real people

Kinda tough here - small town - sort of "clicks" set up. It's like high school! :laugh:

But I seem to have broken the Ice and the host was talking about "next time".

I learn more in the room with other guys in a few hours than weeks by myself with DVDs! :top:
