I noticed last week at Willcutt and Wild West that some of their 2018 guitars in stock are listed as having V12 finishes. Is it back or this just a description error?
What finish is PRS using these days in their core line? I once had a person say that my 2017 McCarty could have a nitro finish. I’m no nitro expert, but that’s not nitro. The seller listed it a V12.

Only PS models, the early DGTs, and a few limited runs are nitro on the body of the guitar. Earlier SAS, CU22 Soapbar, and CEs had nitro-finished necks.
Shawn from PRS said they discontinued V12 a few years ago, and are now using some other polymer finish. But most folks weren’t aware of the change - I wasn’t, either. The newer finish, whatever it is, feels a lot like the V12 and looks pretty much the same to me.
A BMW M70 V12 inched passed me on I90 in NY with both lanes clogged up due to construction. As it was going by me at a snail's pace I said to my wife: He's barely got what it takes to beat my Outback.
