Is This Normal For New SE Custom 24?

Hmm, not sure I agree about a guitar listed near £1k.
What about the tone knob?

I would have to agree with all the comments thus far on this matter. Doesn't look right and if you keep it you may not be happy with yourself in the long run.

Wood has variations, guitars get played (I understand you bought it new) it’s really a question for you. If you’re buying to play I don’t think the condition will improve with time as the instrument gets used. As far as the tone knob that’s the SE QC issues that are sadly more common than not. Can you fix? Could you have the shop fix?

I love SE’s, but have seen the same on some in the local shop in the past year or so. I’m not one to say a guitar at that price should be perfect, but I would return that.

It’s unfortunate - my guess is damage during fret dress/filing due to sloppy work. Probably going too fast. SE’s of years past had the most immaculate fretwork you could get under a grand, I’ve had 4 that never needed thing and were perfect.
