Is this eBay PRS Hollowbody a fake?

The MODCAT decodes as:
Model: Hollowbody II
Top Wood: Maple
Frets: 22
Top Spec: Figured Maple
Top Grade: Non-Ten Top
Neck Wood: Mahogany
Neck Carve: Pattern (Wide/Fat)
Fingerboard Wood: East Indian Rosewood
Inlay: Original Solid Birds (pre-2008)
Bridge: Piezo Adjustable Stoptail
Color: McCarty Sunburst
Hardware: Nickel
Treble Pickup: Archtop
Middle Pickup: none
Bass Pickup: Archtop
Electronics: Piezo (Hollowbody)

but there are head-scratchers....
the color is not McCarty sunburst
the bridge is not the standard PRS piezo bridge
the controls are WAY different than PRS's piezo layout
the pups are not archtop
hardware is not nickel
don't think the knobs are PRS

It Looks like a PRS in general body shape but I bet it started as a non-piezo archtop and was modded by an outside of the factory luthier to add the piezo. I'm also betting that the hang tag serial number and the one on the back of the headstock don't match...

Unless someone from PRS can tell you that it's a prototype or it was modded by PRS, I'd pass - especially at what they are asking....

If I were considering it, I'd definitely ask for a serial number photo and who did the mods.

edit: just like Markie intimates below, I'm not totally convinced it is even a PRS....

it looks like someone may have done a refinish on PRS SE. Look at the TRC, does not fit and the input jack plate is an SE one. It has routed slots for ghost piezo system with midi. Routes looks bigger than the inserts for ghost and the switches and knob placement sucks. i would not touch it.

Yeah, I would steer clear of that. The tag indicates it shipped with a Piezo and PRS uses dual inputs on HB models with piezos - not a single jack as indicated by the photos. Aside that, EVERYTHING else is freaking weird too.

That's why I bet the serial numbers don't match.

no pics of the back of headstock is a dead ringer the serial number does not match

plus there are other hb prs on ebay at that price and lower. and I can't say I have ever seen a gibby TOM bridge on a prs.
