I was able to score one of the black friday SE 245's at Sweetwater a couple of days ago at an awesome price. It's a goldtop and I'm considering doing some mods to it. I'm contemplating taking it into Gretsch territory with a Bigsby and some Filter'trons (I already own an SC 250 and a Custom 24). How difficult is it to mount a bigsby on this guitar? Has anyone done mods like this to a SE 245?

I can't speak to how difficult it is, I've never done it, but I've seen it done and it is, of course, doable. You're going to put holes in the top unless you get one that only mounts to the existing stud holes (I forget what that one is called). Then it would be reversible.

Philtone Music in Baltimore would be happy to do it for you. Phil has even tried putting a Bigsby on his refrigerator.

It's do-able. May be best to get a good tech to do it unless you're comfortable enough to give it a try. I saw a picture of one on the net where someone had kept the stock bridge on an SE One. Another bridge may require that the holes are filled with dowels and re-drilled.
