Is there any sound difference between the P22 Trem vs the P22 Stoptail?

Tried searching for this to no avail. Has anyone had a chance to try both, and if so, is there a difference between the Piezo sound on the stoptail vs the trem models.

Thanks!

Yes. The stoptail sounds way better to me. I have a P24 and, while the piezo tone isn't horrible, it suffers when the trem bridge moves. It changes the break angle over the piezo saddle and causes squealing. Don't like it. The stoptail, however, sounds marvelous, especially with .011 or heavier strings and running the dedicated piezo out through an acoustic amp or PA.

Thanks for sharing. Now I have one more reasons to I love stoptail, adding to half a dozen already existing.

I have a P22 stoptail, and a Custom 24 piezo trem. I actually prefer the piezo tone from the trem ever so slightly. Could be that my setups are a bit different from Viperdoc's, or it could be the processing I use (I run the piezo signal through an acoustic IR in my Line 6 Helix). I can't imagine you would be disappointed with either, particularly if you run good processing/amplification for the piezo separately from the magnetic pickups.
I actually feel guilty, because I rarely play my non-piezo PRS (or other electrics for that matter) with my band, because it's just so awesome to always have a killer acoustic sound available at the flip of a switch!

Thanks for your replies, I'm definitely going for a Stoptail model then.

Only reason I asked is that at least on the few demos on we have on YouTube, most of them are for the stoptail model. And the few Trem ones don't sound as good.

It would not occur to me to use anything but a stoptail on a piezo equipped PRS. I have both a P22 and an SCHB1. I run the 2 jacks into a Line 6 Helix. I run the mag jack into the guitar input and the piezo into the aux input on the Helix. I have a set of patches that allows me to move seamlessly between mag and piezo sounds. The versatility is unreal. I just favor the overall stability of the stoptail for the acoustic tones.
