Just bought the used sunburst semi with some kinda Dimarzio in the bridge from GC LV...should arrive in a week as im in NY...I have 4 other S2s and used theyre a steal!!

How the heck are they so freaking good??? Just got done with band practice, playing Simmons (my semi-hollow) through the Helix and was just so thrilled with the tone and the way it sits in the mix, the versatility...I have indeed found my perfect guitar. I had serious amounts of twangle going...

Aahzz i know youre the Vela expert here....I wasted another hardtail and the ax was cheap for the hollow I think because the pup was replaced....ill post pics when it arrives end of next week!!

Howdy Russ. I received my Vela this past December, it's my first PRS and I am loving this guitar! Mine is also a semi hollow body with the gloss Tobacco finish. It has the tone I heard in my head but couldn't find elsewhere. Love the neck pickup.

Another thing that's a huge plus for me is the light weight. I'm an older guy (soon to be 69) and it's light weight is ideal for me when I'm playing at church. Got some back problems but I have no problem when standing with the Vela strapped on. Been working on a lot of tones with my Pod Go and am having great luck. Bought some patches that come with IR's and I'm loving what I'm hearing. Hope you enjoy yours.

Hey Mike thx for joining in...yeah the weight thing is a deal for me as well as all my s2s are under or around 7lbs....I think this one will be lightweight as well...I have a Mira and 2 standard 22s and love the pattern regular neck shape and 25 inch scale....ill be 49 this year and you keep rockin!!

As an OG Velaphile, congrats! The semihollow models are something special and don’t get squealie until the volume is ridiculous (I have a problem in this department). Don’t be afraid of the nonstock pup, but I’m sorry you didn’t get the Starla bridge pup too…super sweet pickup.

I don't think I've seen anyone report a Vela over 7 pounds. My solid Vela is 6 pounds even and my semi is 5.6
