Is anyone else GAS'g for this Private Stock?

They should call that purple top the “bowling ball,” ‘cause that’s what it kinda reminds me of. Sweet guitar, overall, though.

And yeah, what’s up with those “85/15 LT” pickups? A private-stock thing, or just a typo? I would guess it’s a typo, but they are the uncovered squabbins like the 85/15, so… I dunno. Why do a low-wind version of those pickups, though? Seems odd.

Oooooo ... purple velvet. No GAS here, none at all, not even a little bit, not even a teeny tiny bit

Nope still not GAS'ing ... gahhhhhhhhhh

I would have purchased this guitar months ago if the neck was a matte finish.

I owned multiple PRS guitars....and when I saw a private stock almost 100% identical to my dream build (the only difference being the inlay material, but the one it had was BETTER than what i wanted, I just didn't know it existed)....I did not hesitate....Best move I ever made!

Nope I'm not GASing for that one, and most aren't either (it's been in the shop for a while):
- gloss on a roasted maple neck is almost criminal.
- the purple is so dark you can hardly see the burl top's figure.

And remember that this back cap means no tummy cut: it feels a bit like a Tele digging into your ribs (I learnt the hard way as my first PS had a back maple cap; fantastic looks but I preferred the comfort w/o it).

Do PRS purples fade as fast as the blues?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news: purple = blue+red
Might look actually better in red once it fades.

After gassing for 8 years, I’m glad to say mine has become a highly refined and rarified gas. It’s gas that knows what it wants, is patient on the stalk but silent and deadly on the pounce.
