Core means Maryland, so not SE.
And the SE Custom does have coil splitting.

Guitar World Interview with Paul Reed Smith - S2 Series
1:04 - "The Mira, we changed the shape of a LOT." I was debating someone whether the shape was actually different or if it was just the perception because the bridge and bridge pickup are moved to a different location to accommodate the shorter 22 fret neck. I guess I was on the losing end of that argument.
Paul from Guitar World demoing a new Boss delay pedal, but he is using an S2 Mira for the guitar.
I need a black S2 Mira. That is all.
There is a McCarty sunburst S2 Mira with birds on the way !I am stoked ! Can't wait !roud:
Just arrived on Friday !
Twins! Love them.
Paul is still rockin' the S2 Mira doing some pedal reviews for Guitar World.
He must really like it to keep using it.
As far as I know there has still not been a single S2 to make it to a dealer in the Phoenix area, though I haven't checked in a few weeks.
EDIT: Just saw one at a dealer with a serial number S20015xxx, meaning they've already made 15,000 of these things, right? Not one at a dealer in the 5th largest city in the country.
But now they're already announcing more S2 models. I love the no-frills concept of the S2 Mira, but I have a core Mira already, and now the singlecut has been announced, AND the Custom 22, each of which might be contenders.
Got Two, Kept the Cherry S2 Starla w/ Birds. AWESOME GUITAR!
