Introduce yourself!

Welcome Eagleboy. Slide on in and get comfortable. We're a mostly well adjusted group of psycho's and guitar addicts that accepts just about anything and anybody. Cripes, they let me stay...🤣
What do you play for PRS machines? This is my humble little family, although the Custom on the end is in the process of morphing into a Lake Blue SE Quilt 24-08
Alberta Boy! I have enjoyed a friendship with a couple of people in Medicine Hat. I've been up there to visit. Of course I had to take my family to Banff because you have to go there if you are that close. It was the middle of winter, and two girls were bar hopping in tiny little bikinis. While that might have been nice to look at, I was concerned with them getting frostbite. I must really be getting old.

Yeah, but a long way north from The Hat...about a 7 hour drive north of there. One thing about Alberta, you can start driving at 7 in the morning, drive all day and still be in Alberta!😂
I ski'd once in shorts in the spring many years ago, won't do it again. Not from the chill, but motorcycle road rash has very little over on snow and ice burn...

You'd laugh if you saw how much armour I wear when skiing. Mind you, if you saw how gracelessly I ski, you'd probably understand.

If you can, for a moment, picture a baboon on skis: I'm reasonably efficient, but a very, very long way from elegant 😁

I resembled the term "yard sale" when I strapped on the boards so I know full well what you mean. Only thing I was really good at was wiping out. I quit skiing lift lines because of it, I didn't need the 9.9 grades from the lift riders.😂

Just introducing myself, I am mainly a Gibson Les Paul player, I have 3 of them, but I also have a 2000 PRS Custom 24 core model.
Glad to be here.
Welcome yello3. A good many of us here have many brands of guitars. Don't necessarily mean me, I'm pretty embroiled in the PRS fixation, and I don't have what you'd call a big collection of those either. Whatever sparks your amp brother!

Thanks, there was a time I only owned PRS Core models, but variety is nice.
I have 3 Les Pauls, the PRS, and an Ibanez Prestige which is a great guitar for well under $2000.
Recently I traded 9 of my guitars to buy my 3 Gibsons and I still ended up putting in cash, but there is sonething special about knowing you love every guitar you own rather than liking a lot more.

I parted with Teles, Strats, other Gibsons, but i am very happy with my collection now.

I could part with the Ibanez, but it is a good travel guitar that I don't worry about like the PRS and Gibsons I own.

Welcome yell03. One of my brothers has one of those. The green Ibanez Prestige. :)
How does he like it, I think it is a good guitar, especially at the price point.
If it was only 22 frets I would get rid of it, but having two extra frets comes in handy once in a while.
Same with the PRS Custom 24, those 2 extra frets and great fret access are what makes it for me, otherwise I would just own a Gibson SG VOS.

He likes it but it doesn't seem to stay in his top-3 most played guitars. I played it a little too. It's good but more of a shredder's guitar than types that fit me better.

As you can see in the videos I am definitely not a shredder, I think it does rock very well, I will try soem blues and country with it later for fun.

Thanks, will check out that section.
My youtube is under HowieJams if anybody is interested in seeing an average guy demo stuff.
I have really cool dolphin videos on there also from when I am on my waverunner.

I'm kind of narrow focused that way, maybe it's my advancing age or something.
I've never owned a LP or a Strat (not talking about Epi's or Squires) myself. But I've has some experience with both that left me somewhat cold on them. The one Strat I did play and really like had extensive work done on it and it was an absolute dream to play. And the guy that owned it said even without the work/mods he did to it, it sounded like no other Strat he'd ever played. And he's a serious pro so there's that.
I do however have a strong yearning for a Tele, but the Bolt-on offerings from PRS are a bit daunting for me price wise. I really need to stay within my comfort zone on the price point, needs to be right around the $1k mark Cnd so that really limits my options. And I refuse to buy one by order or online unless I can test play it first with no hassles or obligations. But there is a Charval San Dimas that fits the bill, trouble is where to find one to take a spin on it.

I traded in a 2002 Strat and 3 Teles for my Les Pauls.
The Strat was the best Strat I have ever played, but I am not a Strat guy.
As for Teles, the American Performer I traded was a really nice Tele, you should be able to find one for under $1000.
I also traded a Mexican Fender Player Tele, it played nice, but did not sound as nice as the American Performer.
I also traded an American Professional II Tele, but I preferred the Performer Tele.
