Introduce yourself!

Greetings, Earthlings -

My name is Keith. Over the years, I've owned a couple PRS guitars - early on, I owned a couple SE models, and year or so ago an S2 22 passed through my hands on its way to a new owner.

This week, I purchased an S2 594 McCarty and plan to keep it, so I thought I'd sign up here and take advantage of the shared information.

I do all of my own guitar work, so some of my questions may be stupider than most - there may also be times when I can contribute to the conversation. Looking forward to it.

Welcome Keith. I'm still a coward when it comes to doing my own work on guitars. I do the basic stuff (strings and minor cosmetic changes etc) but I leave setups and truss rod adjustments to the professionals. I have an S2 McCarty as well, a Thinline and it's an incredible guitar. The only gripe I have with it is my own ineptitude as I often get too aggressive or hamfisted and pull the high E string over the edge of the fretboard. Which is totally my bad, I just sometimes get completely lost in the moment and get stupid with my finger(s).
Welcome- there's a WIDE swath of PRS fans here. no stupid questions.
Unless those questions come from me...🤪🤣

Welcome Assault Bacon, I love the username! And BTW, I am not an earthling ;~)) I am visiting from the Piccolomini Crater of Luna!! If things get any weirder on this planet, I am heading home!!!

Hi, I'm Martin from Plymouth, England. I just picked up a Silver Sky SE and found this forum. I started out more into Flamenco years ago, but had rather a long break due to the arrival of children. I've now got back into guitars (when time allows) and getting more into electric. Moved through some budget brands, and got a Gretsch, which I do like, but hunkered after something really good. I'm not disappointed with the SE at all.

Hi I'm Robert, wanted to do a quick introduction. I live in virginia and currently been playing for the last 2-3 years daily. Currently in my stash of guitars which seems to rotate monthly I own 7 PRS guitars, actually 9 but the other 2 are long term vault guitars still in the original box. i have one patrick eggle and 1 texas toast. I started on the SE route and slowly upgraded to some s2 and cores. The SE were fantastic guitars which I ended up modding to make it more my thing. Luckily I have a good friend who owns a guitar shop and he has become pretty tolerant of my GAS. lol. Once I get my 3 posts in, Ill attempt to post pics of my gear or learn how to post pics. I hope everyone enjoys the week and happy upcoming holidays.

indeed welcome 1967 Rob I am new here too (3mos) and picked up an indonesia SE, and now do bow to the PRS quality. I still have 3 Gibson LP's, which I love, and the light weight of the PRS SE seems to have a "cheaper" feel, but the neck real estate, low action have this sled high in my rankings, the electronics as well have been very good, and sing like a Sommabich. sounds like you took to the hobby "all in" well good for you. Ii have played 55 years and now look back and wonder why I am now this old before I got this good. I am not good in the upper pantheon of shredders and virtuosos, but I am a strong intermediate who never took a lesson, taught himself and generally play by ear. musical family, can sing a bit, grew up playiing piano (by ear) but studied Bach and others in college so I kinda get music. Welcome! try a Gibson Studio on for size as part of your herd. 9 PRS!! Is you last name Santana?? L6dist
