Introduce yourself!

I'll check in to the newbie thread.
I bought my daughter a Santana SE, 20 years or so back. Told her if she were to ever need to sell it I would buy it from her. About 5 years ago I got it back with the Line 6 amp I bought at the same time.
Doing a little research it is a Gen 1 2001 model. Some features of this one I believe are more of a later model SE. A pick guard, and the open humbucker type pickups. Pics of Gen 1's I see had the metal covered pickups and generally no pick guard.

There were possibly some options? I bought it brand new in Tulsa, OK. Only played a handfull of times in its life.

Anyway, hello. I hope to learn a bit about these.

What pic host do most use here?
Welcome to the forum. A lot of folks like postimage and imgur

Inlays are different also.
Yes it has the straight inlays.

Since posting this, I thought I would dig around in the gig bag . found Music Sound World as where I bought it. Also the PRS warranty card and a 2002 PRS accessories brochure. An empty bag of strings. There would have never been any reason to change them, having not been played. (removed content) possibly the store put their own special touches on it.

Hello all.
New to the forums and pretty new to PRS.
I've had an SE Standard 24 in satin black for a while but it's not had much play time. Over the last couple of weeks it has managed to push itself to the front of the grab-list and I'm really enjoying it.
So much so that I've just ordered an S2 Studio - gotta love DeArmond (style) pickups!

hi all!

excited to join this forum. not just because of PRS-related topics but also because this is my first forum since the early to mid-2000s lol.

i started playing guitar when i was fifteen but stopped at twenty-four because my band disbanded. now I'm almost 50 im trying to relearn how to play the guitar.

anyway, back then it was always about the gibsons and fenders and PRS was just starting to gain popularity. but every time i came across a PRS ad in a guitar magazine, i took the time to marvel at the guitars it showed.

New old fart. 58 year old director of engineering for a medical device company. Been playing since I was 10. Played in church until college and then started playing rock and blues in various cover bands. Played bars in the Dallas Fort Worth area until Covid. Starting to jam again.

As for PRS, I got my first one, a 2005 CE 24 about 15 years ago. Still have it and love it. Next was a Custom 24 wife got me 7 years ago. I got a 25th Anniversary Custom 24. I bought a sold an SC and a Studio I just never bonded with. Then I got a DGT and a 513. DGT is still my go to. I have a nice selection of "other" brands as well. Main amp is a 2007 Marshall Vintage Modern 1/2 stack. I also have 3 Mesas, a Two Rock Jet 35, Dr Maz 18 and a Friedman Runt 20. Never messed with PRS amps.

Stumbled on this forum while researching the Fender tonemaster pro. Might get one when they hit the used market.

I'm an admin on a Harley forum, same screen name. I'll play nice.

Thanks for allowing me to join.
