Introduce yourself!

Hi there!
My name is Neil and i am Norwegian.
Bought my first PRS in 1987, and i sold it a few months later. Remember i hated that guitar
Now I´m grown up and play S2 McCarty thinline and S2 CU24 plus a SE CU24. I use Sonzera20 as my amplification workhorse.
Next on the wishlist is a core cu24...
Welcome Neil! You have a couple of my wishlist guitars, the S2 CU24 & S2 McCarty thinline. Glad to meet you!

Speaking of which, I’ve been a member for quite a while, and still listed as a newbie. Does the moderator change that, or do I need to find a setting somewhere?

Not a biggie. Just something I noticed recently.
Sorry, you have to go through our intiation/hazing before you get promoted. Please let me know when you're ready. And... assume the position!

I suppose I should officially say hello - they skipped this step in my indoctrination.

Just a hunch, but I'm going to guess that I'm a geezer around here - I'll be 64 before the year is out, my sons are 35 and 31, and I have a 2 year old granddaughter.

Just think, I was tr[uck]in' at Dead shows long before some of you were even her age! o_O

I listen to music 10 hours a day, mostly jazz (everything from be-bop to post-modern to the current stuff coming out of Scandinavia), although lately I'm on a seemingly unquenchable phish kick. I first picked up the guitar in college in the late '70's, and sang and played in a bar band (The Grateful Dads) which started out as a general 'classic' rock band somewhere in the mid-90's and morphed into a full-on Dead cover band until we called it quits in 2011, which is the last time I played in public.

I've accumulated a lot of gear over the years, but most relevant to this forum is my honey-colored 10 top '99 McCarty Hollowbody II, which saw some stage time, but is mostly an indoor cat, since I was never comfortable leaving my prized PRS unattended on a stage in the bar where we mostly played.

I'm an attorney by trade, in practice 40 years, hoping to retire by mid-'24 so I can refocus on guitar and golf.

Glad to be here!

Hello all, I’m new to this forum. My name is Mike W. I have a 2016 CE 24 and I simply fell in love with it from the moment I unboxed way back then. I’m on this forum because now (in2023) the decal on the head stock is starting to peel. So I’m looking for the best suggestions to keep my beauty authentic. Thank you in advance for all the help I receive.

Greetings,
New to the forum and been playing for a couple years. In the last 10 months, I bought two PRS. Let the addiction begin.
2023 SE MCCARTY 594 in Vintage Sunburst and 2023 SE HOLLOWBODY II PIEZO in Peacock Blue

Double congrats and welcome. Love the flamey top on the 594

Hi Mike, welcome.

Is the decal the one that has adhesive on the back? If yes, you could try a little gentle heat from a hair dryer to warm up the adhesive and then some painters tape to hold it in place as it cools.

If you’re not comfortable doing this, hit up your dealer (if you are the first owner) and see what they will do under warranty.

Greetings fellow Guitar enthusiasts. I have been a member here for about two years, and have read a lot of the posts, but I haven't contributed before. I am interested in learning by asking questions.

I only own 2 PRS guitars, but I love and play them both a lot.

My first PRS was/is a 2002 Standard 24 in Platinum Silver. It is modded with 57/08s and an adjustable nut. She has been played a lot and has been naturally aged into a player's grade work horse.

The second one I bought more recently is a Johnny Hiland signature model. Two very different guitars that both great in their own right, imho. I am not even close to being a Country style player, but this guitar works for me anyway. Great sustain and tone gained up.

See pic below.

Cheers.

What a great pair of killers!
Great to have another “not using for their intended purpose“ PRS guy around here.;):)
