Hey guys.
Is it possible to install a PRS tremolo bridge on a S2 singlecut stoptail guitar?
I really want to get an S2 singlecut guitar but I'd love to have a tremolo on it. I know it takes time to be able to install a tremolo bridge.
Do you know any company which handles this type of task? and how much would it cost?
If you can do that for me, how much would you ask? I'm not good at modding guitars :/
I wonder if PRS guys will ever release S2 signlecut trem series.

Thanks!

I'm not a PRS expert (yet!) but it would depend on the neck angle. Traditionally Les Paul type guitars with stoptail bridges have a bigger neck angle than Strat type guitars with tremolo bridges. This makes fitting a trem pretty much impossible on a stoptail guitar. Stoptail bridges sit a lot higher than Strat type trems, hence the bigger neck angle required. Even if the neck angles were compatible, there would be a lot of routing required, plus have you seen the price of a PRS trem?!

You could pick up a used SC trem for much the same as you'd spend on an S2 and a PRS trem. My 20th Anniversary SC Trem was a friggin' steal!

The quick answer: Don't bother.

It is "possible", but is not practical, and is cost prohibitive. I spoke to PTC about installing a trem on a DIII; no dice.

I think that between the cost of the guitar and what it would take to find someone that could do it correctly, you'd likely be better off just buying something like a used (ore even new) Tremonti with the trem from the factory.
