Wondering if anyone suspects any issue with going 1/4" into the back cavity to install the screws of the trem stopper. I worry since the trem cavity is already 3/4" down and the bridge pickup cavity is near as well. Could I accidentally go through the body wood into the pickup cavity?

Drilling into wood by hand can get a little dicey, as the wood tries to suck the bit into it. I would guess that you will be fine as long as you have a Set-up that allows you to control the depth of your drill..................... just my 2 cents worth

Start very small and only go as big as you need.
