Hi all - I'm considering having the PTC install a Floyd Rose on my CU24 which has a PRS trem. Has anyone had that work done? Just curious how you like it, and what the work looks like - thank you!

No comment on your considered mod. Just wanted to say Alex rules!

Why not sell it and buy a Custom 24 Floyd?

I really like the guitar, had it for 8 years. Just miss having a FR trem. The guitar has already been sent to the PTC for a new nut and jumbo frets a year or two ago, so I know the work will be awesome.[IMG]

Sounds to me like you're WAY overdue for a new guitar day.

What would it cost to have PTC do it verses buy a used FR cu24???

I don’t know about the ptc, I’ve heard that’s not cheap, but I got custom 24 Floyd rose recently and I really like it. The metal pickups it has are very nice too. Stays in tune great.

What they all said...First, yeah, Rush...Pretty much sums it up!!
Second, Maybe hunt for a used Floyd 24...you, know, in case you break a string or something on your number 1.
    You're welcome!!!! ;):p;):p

The PTC price is not cheap, but the work will of the highest quality. For this guitar, nothing less. The PTC work is way cheaper than a used American CU24 FR, but I will consider your suggestion ; )

Let me know hat they say? I too have been thinking the same thing.
BTW - Here is what the PTC did for me a few years ago.
