Gave in to the itch today. Ordered on Cyber Monday, but probably should've gotten it on Black (ahem) Friday... it just satin the warehouse waiting for me all weekend.

Well, it's on the truck for delivery today (!!!), but markintime just for you, here are a couple teasers:

The satin black with chrome hardware look was too good for me to pass up!

That's the worst! That damn brown truck. I swear, every time I order a guitar, they wait in the bushes across the street with binoculars. As soon as they see me sneak out for a quick bite, they run up and slap a tag on the door. URRRRGHHH!

BTW, I really like those satin S2's. They feel great!

Saw one in the store and was on the fence until I picked it up. That finish is sweet. Congrats.

Thanks fellas! I know it's just going to be a cycle of me not being here for the delivery, so I'm just having it held at the nearest Fedex pickup, probably get it Thursday. Worth the wait!

That's actually pretty sharp! But man. I do love the birds too.

My wife's one complaint was that it didn't have birds. Wish it was an option, but for the price, I can't complain about a stripped down tone machine!

Is that an ebony board?

That thing is beautiful. Love the black satin.

I feel your pain. I'm currently waiting for a PRS that I purchased over the phone from a GC in Fresno to arrive at my local GC. Should be any day now......

I don't think so, but I would be elated if it were. I have an ebony board on my Akesson, and LOVE it. My dream PRS is a McCarty AP with ebony board.

Whether that will ever happen with these S2's distracting me remains to be seen.

Way to go Andy! I thought briefly about the black, but I am a Wood Grain Addict... but that is elegant, man. Kind of like wearing a tux made of corduroy, y'know. Classy, but making its own statement. I, too, wish they had birds as now its the only PRS I have without them, but oh well. And if they had offered ebony boards on these I would have had a definite guitar-gasm. I guess my GAS is going to be around for a while yet.

But, you are so right about the tone machine. This week has seen me reaching for the satin first every day and only grabbing the others simply to compare and then getting back on it before stopping for the night. Just can't believe how good those #7's sound.

Thanks! Usually I'm a wood grain guy too, but something about the black just called my name. I was pondering a gloss finish standard in tobacco burst, really liked the grain, but then I saw the black satin and just thought "hmm, that looks bad@$$!"

I already have a semi-hollow version of this guitar, which works great for some applications, but feeds back a bit too much when I play with the band and my amp is running hot. We play heavy rock, so this should behave itself better and also have a little more thump. The 7's sound righteous with a dose of gain! They retain their string clarity very well.
