Hey all - it's been a while since I've had a PRS, but I finally convinced myself to grab one of the Special Semi Hollow's before I couldn't find one I'd want. It will be delivered today and I'll update the thread with pictures soon.

Full disclosure, I have barely played electric guitar in about a year, focusing on Gypsy Jazz (my main guitar was built by Craig Bumgarner, also a MD native). I didn't really connect with the CU24 and HBII I had a few years ago, but I think the SSH is going to tonally deliver what I felt was missing. Though I did have a 1997 Standard 24 that I stupidly sold in my youth that I'd love to get back if I ever see it.

I was able to spend a bit of time with the guitar last night, and it checks all of the boxes that I felt were missing from the previous PRS guitars I owned. The tonal options are wonderful. I also like the clarity of each note, both acoustically and amplified. There's zero mud, each note in a chord is complimentary, and the single notes have a warm, yet glasslike clarity. It's a great partner to my LP, which is what I was hoping would be the case.

Cloudy most of the weekend, but I some sun did peak through

Thanks everyone! I didn't realize how many smudges there were on the guitar, not to mention the cat fur on the stand!

It's a great guitar that effectively addressed the things I didn't connect with on the guitars I previously owned from PRS.
