Two guitars: same model, year, and color; playability and tone same enough to elude back-to-back test-play certainty. Same price.

Bachelorette #1
• tighter, more regular flame, book-match offset rather than meeting on the centerline
• darker mahogany fretboard (actually ROSEWOOD, per later correction)
• might look better from across the room
• 7 lbs 9 oz

Bachelorette #2
• mix of wide & tight flame, perfect book-match (from some angles), "interesting" patterns in flame, some transverse lines (ie, vertical banding along with horizontal)
• lighter mahogany fretboard w/some dark bands (yup, also ROSEWOOD...
• might look better up close
• 7 lbs 2 oz

Which one wins?

(Winner lives with me; less belovéd candidate released into the wild.)

Why is this even a question?
Hah! You say this as though it's dead obvious. But is that a Strong Personal Preference, or Immutable Law of the Universe?
__________

Also, note revised weights. 7 oz difference. Musta been from different mahogany trees.

Which raises the question: what is decisive here, appearance or weight? If weight, do we think heavier or lighter guitars sound better? These have to be pretty common conundrums in PRS-Land.

Eenie~meanie~miny~moe…… one of you has got to go!

Blindfold yourself. Do this with one beer in hand, with a box of cleanex close by for the tears, and pick one.

You’re going to cry either way.

To me it would be Sound, and weight. I have two Momose LP (same model one year apart) the weight and the sound influence which one is my favourite, one is 1Lb lighter. Or just get them both.

'Turn to the Herd' (TURD) mind won't set your heart on fire.

My recommendation... flip a coin. Hear me out. Assign a guitar to each side. Then, really commit yourself to the results before the coin takes flight. If you're heartbroken with the results (after the coin lands), there's your answer.
