A story about the "plainest", most run of the mill, PRS in my arsenal.
I have a relatively small (4) stable of core PRSi. None of them are completely regular guitars: even my 57/08 CU24 is not really regular, with a peruvian hog neck. I have said CU24, a 2009 core Starla, a McC soapy korina and a McC smokeburst. The latter is a regular McC with old school nitro lacquer and the focus of my story.
If it comes to pretty (CU24), ispirational (McC soapy), or churchy (starla), the McC does not stand out. However, it is the guitar I pick up most. Why? It is the most all round, tonally balanced and comfortable guitar I have. It is pretty, but more like a well worn, vintage kind, with a little subdued top, guitar. Has some dings, but since it is nitro: I cannot be bothered. it just fits my needs.
Does this ring a bell?
