I mostly care about how the guitar looks and how beautiful the top is. Body woods? Not the prior but I don't like maple fret boards. Any guitars would probably do for me as long as it's beautiful. Funny right? X(

Then I was wondering, how would you guys spend if you had some cash about $2400. It's amount to buy a guitar that you've wanted...of course not enough to buy PRS Private Stock but how would you spend it? Which guitar would you buy?

Your answers might help me get better choice of guitars so be very personal please!

ps. You guys have been very polite and helpful, for every question I ask, I very appreciate it I started to like this forum much!

Probably an old CE24.

Edit:

Ahh scratch that - who am I kidding - Music Man Majesty Artisan. Not that I can actually buy one for that price, but I'd do something to make it happen one way or another.

Well, there are a lot of guitars you can get for that price on the used market. But since many of the models are still available new, I hesitate to discuss in any detail to stay within the forum rules regarding discussion of price.

That being said, if you don't have a particular need for certain features like a piezo pickup or semi- or full hollow body, you can get used solid bodies like CU24s, CU22s, and a variety of SingleCut models on the used market in or below that price range, some with very nice 10 tops.

So really, browse Reverb.com and other sites and see what strikes your fancy!

I agree. With 2400 I would be looking at the used market and getting the most out of that amount. For me it would be a singlecut with the two piece bridge or one with a wraparound. The neck profile would be a pattern/wide fat. Best feeling in my hands.

If looks were the only thing that mattered, and I wanted to blow $2400, I'd buy 3 or 4 really pretty SEs.

Why bother with a Core model if you don't really care about the woods, the tone, or how it plays?

Words of wisdom here.
I'd abandon that thought pattern of "it's gotta look good" and try to find the best used HB II w/piezo I could find, but that's just me.
Look at it this way, all PRS with decent top are gonna blow away most others guitars in the looks dept. anyway.

Oh man. 2400.00? It could be trem/rosewood neck or HB or DGT all used of course. I really want 30th anniversary cu24 but that's not enough money to get one used yet.

I've seen several 30th anny Cu24's sell around that price...I'd bet you could find some listed for that right now.

I'd go for a used P24 myself...
