Those of you that have experience with the McKorina and HB(I or II); if you could have only one of them, which would you pick, and why?

sorry, have never played a HB, but of all the prs's i'ved owned, there's just always been something "extra" special about my 09 Mckorina (especially with the 59/09 in the neck and 57/08 in the bridge) it would be the LAST of my prs's to ever go!

What else do you have, and are you a solid body player generally or a hollow body player?

I have never owned a hollow body of any kind, but always wanted one. I have also always wanted something in Korina, hence the conundrum. The current line up is: 89 MIJ Strat, EBMM JPX, JP70, and PRS Studio, Cu22, Cu24, DGT, and a Bernie.

Since you have all solid body guitars, go with the Hollow Body You can't go wrong there. Your DGT and CU22 cover your solid body sound for you best.

Based on your arsenal, for sure an HB, and even based on the title of this thread the answer is still HB. The HB can do a lot of what a solid body can do (even shred & metal), and then some, like jazz and chimey chords like an acoustic, that solids don't do as well.

Oh, then I'd definitely go the HB route. You have plenty of solid body guitars.

I think the McKorina Braz guitars that Dave's Guitars has are KILLER. I have a soapbar version and it's killer.

I'm not a fan of piezo-equipped guitars so if you went with a hollowbody I'd go S2 or JA15.

I would go with a HB 1 (no piezo, Archtop pickups) or HB II (with piezo, 57/08's) to round out your guitar portfolio. You won't go wrong with either one. You already have solid-body guitars well covered.

Thanks to all for your input. Truly appreciated, but now moot. I called the store that had the one I was looking at as soon as they opened yesterday (after being closed Sunday). They had just posted it Saturday, so I figured I was good to ask some questions to the very knowledgeable staff, and make a decision. Unfortunately, they let one of their regulars take it home Saturday night to try it out and he decided to keep it. They did get a sweet 408 in though, so I decided to go that route. I'll be picking it up next week. As for the HB....the quest continues.
