ZZ Top - La Grange - how to play on guitar - blues guitar lessons - classic rock texas

Once again thank you Marty!
The part after the A chord always perplexed me, now I know how to do it correctly.

How to Play "School's Out" by Alice Cooper on Guitar - Rock Guitar Lessons, Riffs and Power Chords

One of my favorite Alice Cooper songs.
Hey, Cooper is coming to a local casino near me soon.
He was at the huge outdoor amphitheater up the road from me with Motley Crew during the summer, but I missed it.

The tools that are available over the internet to learn how to play guitar (both the free ones (Marty - Justin etc) and the ones you have to pay for - such as True Fire) all help to accelerate the learning process. With that said, there is no substitute for serious listening to learn how to play songs (including both chords and solos) and get them into your DNA. At least for me, I have to really "hear" a song before I can play it well. When I am driving around in the car I am constantly trying to figure out underlying chords to the songs I am listening to. I think that this helps develop your ear, which is to m at least the most important part of learning how to play.

I am the same way when driving and listening to music.
I imagine where the guitar players hands are and what chords they are.
When I get home I can pick up a guitar and start playing it in the correct key most of the time.

Riff Raff - AC/DC - Rock Guitar Lesson (ST-333) Angus, Malcolm

I guess it would be nephew Stevie Young now since he has taken over for Malcolm.

I guess they should say "Stevie" Young now instead of Malcolm.

But you know what? Those of us that learned in that age kind of found our own style a little quicker, even if it was just copying someone else's style. We didn't necessarily obsess with playing it "just like the record" (which is not to say we didn't try like hell). But we also didn't necessarily copy the player's technique (or the less successful version someone had videoed on a smart phone) - we found a way to do it, whether it was the same or completely different.

I spend hours upon hours with the Ozzy albums and a couple Star Licks/Star Jams tapes trying to cop Randy Rhoads' style. I never did get it, either, but I got enough to be happy with what I did.

Kids are picking up technique quickly now, but it's the next step that's crucial. It's one thing to copy David Grissom's solos - it's a whole other thing to come up with a voice like David Grissom's.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to yell at some kids to get off my lawn.

I still have my Starlicks tapes. Like them all the except for the Richie Blackmore which sucks.

Howard.

House of the Rising Sun - The Animals - Beginner Easy Song Guitar Lesson Acoustic

This was one of the first songs I learned on my first guitar (Teisco electric) at the local YMCA back around '70 I think.

Lets see if I can get Five Finger Death Punch version to start later in the vid.
Quite a bit of language before the actual song starts.
Sorry, wanted it to start at 1:19, but it is starting from the beginning.

Just found another good lesson on this song.
Guy is using a twelve string with down/up picking, sounds great.

I would like to try recording this with the Zoom R24 and add a second track with the Kingfisher.

Great song! I first learned this in the 70's by ear - Unfortunately there was no internet, guitar tab, or even any decent sheet music back then. I learned the song as well as I could off of the Filmore East Live LP - always had trouble with Duane's 1st solo on the live version- maybe I should revisit it now. I haven't played the song in 30 years, it might be interesting to look at it again. Thanks for posting.

Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World - Guitar Lesson (BONUS! Learn The Guitar Solo At The End!)

Hope I have not posted this one before, but I am wanting to learn this one, plus I just bought a MP3 Nirvana album over the weekend.
I did learn the intro and solo to this earlier, so maybe I had watched another video on this song.

I think the solo sounds pretty haunting.

Another lesson from Bobby on the same song as above, but with TAB.
This is perhaps my favorite Nirvana song.
Wish my SE Angelus Standard would show up so I can play it on it :D

I do like the above video better though as it adds in the solo at the end of it.

Phil X Teaches Rock Soloing Lesson w Pentatonic Scale - Guitar Lessons Rock

You may have seen the video with Phil X and Marty I posted in the Artists section yesterweek with them getting together with a drummer and jamming.
Mary played bass in that video.

Marty and Phil have a lesson posted here.
Must be hard for Phil to be sitting down, as he is usually standing and rocking back and forth :D
