He said the guitar he was looking for didn't exist ...he was looking for "elements of a strat and LP"...
Now that's what brought me to PRS personally...I like HBs and shorter scale but love the ergonomics of a strat.
...I know there's tons of options in 24' now but years ago I felt the same and found my first PRS...a standard 22 trem and have had a dozen other PRS models since but currently have 7 USA made PRS and an SE SAS...

For some reason I think he would have loved the DW CE24 Floyd! I play a LOT of Van Halen on that Jadeburst Demon!!!!!

Me too. I asked the local store if there was a mix of Les Paul and Strat. He said no. Eventually I saw an ad for PRS and I asked the guy about them. He said, sure, but you can’t afford that. Must have been a year or so later and I bought a CE-24. I considered the Custom and the 22 fret varieties. At that time, the CE-24 fit me best and I was very satisfied.

I have a 2012 Experience Custom 24 that is amazing for early EVH stuff. Not that you'd know to look at it:
