I need a recommendation for pickups!

Hi all.......

I just purchased a 95 McCarty STANDARD...but the original pickups were pulled....so I need a recommendation for new pickups.

I have a 97 McCarty already with stock pickups, so I was thinking a BIT hotter to take advantage of the full mahogany body.

The only condition I have is...they must be COVERED, as to match the aesthetic/appearance of the original issue


So far, my thinking has lead me to: Dragon 2's OR finding a pair of Dragon 1's and covering them


Opinions? Recommendations?

I've had the following pickups in my McCarty standards: Mira, 5708, 5909, \m/, HFS. All have sounded great, and better than the original pickups to me. I have 5708's in one now, with the bridge pickup set pretty close to the strings. It sounds pretty awesome. I liked the Mira pickups in it a lot as well. Maybe a set of 245(which are the same but covered) would do well.
