so i finally made my first trip out to brians guitars in hamden CT. i'm about 90 minutes away up in massachusetts. the store was great. brian was friendly and had a hell of a selection. i specifically wanted to go because i knew he had some lightly used Modern Eagle 1's. i've been drooling over those for quite some time and mostly because of the full brazillian necks. so i played a couple different ones that he had and even tried another unfinished neck that was called katalox ebony which was very nice. link here (http://briansguitars.com/product/paul-reed-smith-artist-custom-24-black-gold-mexican-ebony-one-off)

but anyway. i think it finally snapped me out of my insatiable lust for brazillian rosewood. i've been using my limited 59/09 mccarty for the past few months and i really think i prefer the indian rosewood. the braz felt a little smoother but something about this indian just does it for me. and that'll definitely save me some money in the future for when i inevitably buy another PRS. i thought i would absolutely desire the braz over the indian. or that it would a night and day difference, and even though there were differences, i gotta say my heart is with indian. all that being said, i would still LOVE a modern eagle some day. but now i know i dont need to go for an ME1 which is nice. also, i really need to get me an Archon. those babys are great.

here are the 2 ME1s i tried. the red one was especially killer. and great pickups in these! i really liked them.

Brian's is awesome...great guitars and gear, and cool dudes who know their stuff. I'll be popping' in there tomorrow myself:cool:

Nice! I feel relief after playing something I thought I needed to have only to find out it doesn't suit me. The problem I run into when checking stuff out is that I wind up trying something I'd never considered, and then wind up wanting that piece instead!

Wait, are we talking guitars, or chicks? o_O

I'm worried. I find that I really like 5310s and a may be lusting for an ME Quattro with those pickups. I'm in trouble!!!!

yeah and quattros seem to be much lower priced than 1's or 2's which i wont argue with! i just think that whatever PRS i get next, its gonna need an IR neck.
