I kinda hate this software

I keep running into problems quoting and replying to posts.

I’ll try and edit someone’s response to just a sentence so I’m not quoting the whole wall of text, and then my cursor disappears and I have to post and then edit to finish it, or I have my text appear in the quotes “bubble”.

Anybody else run into this problem?

Edit: and also, if I hit reply, exit out from it or even leave the website, when I come back on and try to reply to a different post, the previous reply/quote still pops up.

Well, there are a few idiosyncrasies that could be improved upon. But I’m guessing that our convenience while posting isn’t high on their priority list.

i’m going blind so i use an ipad, and i start a lot of comment i never post, and all of the pages seem to save quote state real well. might be more browser than the site (cf. ‘abandoned mall’).

Could be that the phone is the problem? No problem with computer here...

The quoting thing bugs me. I find it a bit less troublesome if I type something new under the quote box before going to the quote box to delete some of its content.

And yeah, the memory of stuff I decided not to post is definitely a ‘feature’.

The quoting thing happened with the previous iteration too. At least to me. Otherwise, no problems on my PC or iPad. Never use the phone.

The quote thing is an attempt to make some things easier, while unintentionally creating a lot of frustration.

What this software really lacks in a “Days since Julie Bowen mentioned” counter at the top.

I find complaining bitterly and swearing under my breath does nothing, and yet…

Sometimes I have these sorts of issues; also get the "oops we ran into problems..." error message when trying to post pictures. Putting Firefox into 'troubleshooting' mode fixes it. Haven't used other browsers bedsides Firefox though, so I assumed it was some sort of compatibility issue.

Also sometimes I can't get in the site at all and get stuck in an endless captcha loops that never resolve. Again troubleshooting mode fixes it.

As I'm typing this, the font keeps spontaneously shifting to bold for some reason. Life is inscrutable sometimes.
