I sold one of my Les Paul’s and decided on a PRS for my electric guitar. I’ve had two or three in the past and sold them when I bought something new, I missed them. This guitar has an excellent flame top with a purple finish, I prefer red but I wanted to try a different for a change. The guitar was made in July of 2003 and I’d be surprised if it was played more than five times based on the lack of pick marks on the top and pickup. I guess I paid top dollar at $2500 but that’s ok, I love it. It’s 7#8oz which is nice and light compared my Les Paul at 8#7oz. It has the wide thin neck which I like and I like having three basic knobs including the five way toggle switch. I wonder if I can fade the top a little so the flame is easier to see but love it the way it is. It is like getting a brand new guitar

Congrats on the new guitar! I also do not feel that you over paid for it. I remember used 10 tops selling for that much back in 2006 - 2008.
It doesn’t really matter, I love it and it’s a keeper. I’m switching from Les Paul to PRS. I’ve done this before and then went back to Les Paul, but it’s 75. This is my last run and I’m gonna stick with the Paul Read Smith. It’s a little lighter even though I get lost on that extra long neck lol

That looks like ‘raspberry’ to me, only made in ‘03 and ‘04 (iirc). Are the back and neck finished black?
