Dear folks,
As some of you may have noticed, I have not bought a new guitar for a very long time (by my standards). Almost a year since I bought that Private Stock McCarty 594 Singlecut Trem.
Well, that ride on the GASaholic's Anonymous train has officially ended. I picked up for myself today, a beautiful 25th Anniversary Custom 24 in (i think) Fire Red (please correct me if I am wrong), complete with that beautiful White Hard Case and those birds and headstock inlays. The 25th Anniversary's have been on my mind for a long time (read 5-6 years) but I never managed to find one I liked locally. One plus on this Custom 24 is that it has a regular neck, not a wide thin, which is chunkier and preferred by me. Also an interesting plus are the Gold PU covers contrasting well with the rest of the guitar.
Initial impressions are good. Needs a bit of a setup but it's a Custom 24. You can't go wrong.
Quick Early Pictures below.
Also below is a video that this Guitar kind of brought on. Given I picked this up for the princely sum of about 1900 USD, I am just stunned by how much guitar it is for the money in the context of 2024. Also, there are a couple of playing demos thrown in, right after the channel intro and at the very end. I will do a more detailed video on the guitar at a later stage once I have more time with it. Overall very pleased. Just hope this doesn't lead to a cascade of new guitars.
