I can’t figure out which PRS model I have…

Hey guys, I need help identifying which PRS model I have. The serial number doesn’t help on the website and dealers are confused as well. Any help would be appreciated.

The back of the headstock says Z 72256 10 in handwritten Gold marker.

The serial number won’t tell you the model.

Is that Z actually a 2? Is the 10 set off to the corner on the right?

Needs picks or description of the layout, sounds like a 10 Top but no way to know more without more info or pics

My guess is that isn't a Z but a 2 prefix, which would make it a late 2002 model, which also aligns with the "72256" part of the serial number according to the serial number lookup page.

If you post some photos, maybe we can help assess what model it is. There should also be a series of codes usually under the neck pickup, which can help place it more precisely.

There's a saying: A picture without (former French President) Sarkozy is a proof of it's fake.
As mentioned by @DISTORT6: According the serial number none is capable to to tell you anything about your model, despite the production year and the the produced guitar within the respective year slice.

Or just email PRS support with the serial number (a 2 not a Z) and they’ll tell you exactly what it is
