I Built A Fort - Woohoo!

Looks good! You need higher walls ( stacks, more cabs) to protect yourself.

I want a PRS stack in orange paisley. Let's make it happen!

Nice Fort!! However, I see a lot of walls for protection... but no weapons!! Where are all the Axes in case there's an attack?! :408mt: :dontknow:

I keep them cased in my old music room and carry them to the basement when I want to play. That'll change once Sergio finishes my basement.

Jesse, is your Shiva an older one or new 20th version?

The Shiva and Shiva 20th are two different beasts. I have a Shiva with EL34's and reverb (you can get them with EL34 or 6L6 and with or without reverb), but it is a newer one. Newer Shiva's have bright switches on the face plate for each channel (older model had none), a boost volume that works for both channels that is foot switchable (older model lacked this), and they have a different effects loops. I think that covers it. The 20th Shiva has KT88's a few other features that make it special. I'd like a 20th as well but I have the Uberschall Twin Jet so I have to draw the line somewhere so I have some guitar money.

Cool. I've only played the oldest version, which I liked a lot, but felt I needed just a little more available in the gain dept. I've been wanting to try both your version and the 20th.

Swing by and pick me up on the way to MO.

I hear you. I like the Shiva for everything except for what requires second channel of my Uberschall. And most stuff doesn't need that much brutality.

Hop on the train. I love getting a sleeper car on the train.

Yu guys mind making a detour through CO on the way. I haven't looked at a map recently, but think it's pretty much on the way.;)

I'll figure out a way to make it to CO.

Promises, promises.

Spill it, JF.

I'll be there before you know it. After my last weigh in so I can pig out properly.

EVH 5150 III in 50 watt. No pictures yet cause I haven't had time. Buddy of mine sold it to me dirt cheap. I couldn't pass on it for the price. These things rip so hard.

Quick shot of the 50 watt fort expansion.

Got this used locally from a buddy at a price I couldn't refuse. For some reason I put off playing these. I regret it. It slays. I paired it with a Bogner Shiva 1x12 and it sounds huge. Couldn't be happier.

The 50 watt shares an EQ, Gain, and Volume controls between Channel 1 and 2. Channel 3 has it's own set. This works out reasonably well I don't find I miss separate controls between the first two channels. The foot switch does all 3 channels and effects loop.

The thing that caught my attention is how much gain is on tap and how good it sounded at low volumes. Channel 1 is about what you'd expect. Channel 2 is metal territory with gain around 4, but I felt it was sweetest at 5-6 with lower volume levels. Channel 2 is even more saturation and is metal right out of the gates with gain at 3, but with lower volumes I like it around 4-5. I found myself living on Channel 2 honestly. It was heavy.

Needless to say I was rocking my Charcoal Cherry Burst for initial play through on this beast.

I need to build up my walls with more paisley. Experience you can't come fast enough!

Fort upgrade day.

Infrastructure is key man!

Been using these for a while, but thought I could use a few more.

Also picked up plenty of speaker cable in efforts to outfit my fort to the PRS max.

I forgot to order PRS patch cables during this round, but when I picked these up I remedied my mistake.

Thanks to Brett at Eddie's for the deal.

Id: Just look at these pictures. Our friend has a fort! I want a fort. How come we don't have a fort?

Ego: His fort certainly looks like more fun than our non-fort! There is a fort gap! We need our own fort!

Superego: You have a studio.

Id: Everyone has a studio these days. That's not enough!

Ego: He's right, Superego, we are falling behind everyone else and we can't let that happen.

Superego: Give me a break, you morons, we buy only what we need and use on tracks.

Id: Gee, I dunno, if I had that stuff I'd use it.

Ego nods agreement.

Superego: Pick two (id picks two, gets eyes poked, Ego puts hand in front of eyes, stopping the fingerpoke, says "nyuk nyuk" and gets punched in the stomach. Melee breaks out.

Wife: "What's going on in there, L? It sounds like World War III."

"Oh it's nothing, we just have a little...GAS...tonight."

"Well, be sure to run the fan, willya? I hope you don't smell up the whole house!"
