So I am really proud of myself for this and recently I have been starting to work more and more on my guitar kit, fixing flaws that came from the factory with the help of StewMac and I am proud to say, for my first time working on a guitar, that I sanded down some binding that was overhanging on the cutaway! I know it's not much, but for my first time, I am so proud of myself. I then reglued the nut because it wasn't secured very well, having only needed one light hammer tap for it to just fall off. So I reglued it to learn how to do that. It's at a weird angle from the factory, and there was glue there to make up for that angle. You can tell just from the color that it's plastic. I am gonna get a few blank bone nuts soon and experiment with those. What my plan is to experiment with nut angles, and I am most likely going to have a flat bottom on the nut, and then curve over to account for the angle of the nut, and then slot it and fine tune things. I am so excited to learn how to do this!

Congratulations on taking your first steps.

Just remember the age old advice from the TV program “This Old House” -
“Measure twice, cut once”.
Oh I know to dry fit PLENTY of times before you glue. I grew up with this old house playing because my dad loved home renovation shows for some reason! I am just learning but thanks to todays technology I can learn this all on youtube.
