I did something I haven't done before… I cranked BOTH of the preamp gains on my HXDA. I was so set on following the videos settings… never even thought of it. Ummm… well, what a difference it makes. Totally gained out old-school monster! Love it. The Stripped 58 sounds very thick and powerful, the Custom 22 sounds like Metallica's "Kill 'em All"
So many great vintage album and guitar sounds in this amp...
Don't get me wrong, I still love the Duane sound, but the metalhead in me really enjoyed just plain cranking everything up! Great howling feedback too… at bedroom levels!
So, if you have an HXDA and like the heavy sounds, try cranking those 2 knobs to the left up and see what it does!
