HXDA w/ 6v6's

So to attempt to control gig volume in smaller clubs I asked PRS about using 6v6's in the HXDA w Matt said that w the lower plate voltage it would work plugged in from 4 ohms to an 8 ohm cab. I experimented w it quickly yesterday and the unit sounded very good. I'll give you all a gig report in a couple of weeks. I moved into an apartment today so I won't be able to open it up. It had some nice fatness to it still so we'll see how it goes. I've always struggled w the volume and I got it before the 30 watt came out.

seems i used to have the same problems, i didnt keep them either..i change to another one.

So, where did the bias end up with these tubes? To me, it seems like it would completely change this amp's character, not just lower perceived output.

I biased them to 30mv like Matt from PRS recommended. It changes the character but I still get creamy rock tones at lower volumes, which helps for a club or to use at church where stage volume is a factor. I got the idea for the 6v6's from Dr Z's Remedy.
