Thanks! I decided to re-play part of the track after you posted, and linked it in the first post. Sounds a little better now,.Spankin' clean Tele tone. Definitely not expected from a HXDA/V30.
Sounds great!
They ugly AF too.The ergonomics have always been my sticking point.

It's Ok To Live A Little...Oh, it’s only because I don’t want a demerit on my permanent record!
“A little” is about all I can get!!It's Ok To Live A Little...
Agree! And wonder… is this another byproduct of the 6 on one side headstocks (along with the higher string tension on the higher strings which has always been my big objection to them!)My biggest issue with Teles and Strats is how the notes sound above the 12th fret (can be a bit thin). Below the 12th fret, I like the clean tones.
Good question!Agree! And wonder… is this another byproduct of the 6 on one side headstocks (along with the higher string tension on the higher strings which has always been my big objection to them!)
No worries: "There ain't no money above the fifth fret anyway" - Chet Atkins / Tommy Tedesco / othersMy biggest issue with Teles and Strats is how the notes sound above the 12th fret (can be a bit thin).

I played a reverse headstock fender strat ("HM" or something??? ) years ago, and while you could feel the longer scale, it bent much easier on the top three strings than a regular strat. But this is why I've always preferred 3x3... and a bit shorter scale.Reverse Headstocks Are Your Friend.
I Find Reverse Headstocks (6 Per Side) To Solve Some Of The Issues People Have With Those Higher Notes In Many Instances. Of Course Pickups, Guitar Controls And Amp Settings Help As Well But You Know All of Thisl.I played a reverse headstock fender strat ("HM" or something??? ) years ago, and while you could feel the longer scale, it bent much easier on the top three strings than a regular strat. I completely agree! We both prefer that ‘edge of breakup/touch of grit’ clean tone, but that’s the expectation. The first thing most of us do when confronted with a Plexi is crank the gain and get ‘that sound’.The top end is very hi-fi, I think I like a bit of grit even in my "clean" tones.
The low end is amazing though, that is the exact low end I would want on a clean recording.
That does sound good........can you guess how many times I've kicked myself for selling my paisley HXDA????
Well.....what makes it worse for me is you actually tried to talk me out of selling it. I should have listened but I was getting REALLY frustrated and sold it anyway.I very nearly did the same thing. At the last moment I realized my ass would be sore from kicking myself daily for the rest of my life.
So you have my complete understanding!
I'm also finding that using cleaner tones makes the guitar matter I little more for me.I very nearly did the same thing. At the last moment I realized my ass would be sore from kicking myself daily for the rest of my life.
