Hi. I can’t get a good idea of the value of this amp. I think they were about $3K new and there are very few examples of online used sales.

What would be a fair price to pay?

There’s a head and cab pair with maple faceplates available on my local CT boards for $2k for a long time now. With covers.
They ought to put that online. It wouldn’t last an hour!

@Supa Necta Bodia is on point, though recent craziness has people pricing them higher… though I don’t know if they’re selling at that price. There were some here looking to try one if you had a reasonable cost in mind… you may get a PM. I’ve got two 50 watters (1 combo, 1 head) or I’d be messaging myself!

I’ve see lots of the discontinued, hand-wired amps for crazy prices lately, but, yes, that doesn’t indicate that they’re all selling for those prices. Although even some of the more reasonable listings have gone up in price lately. Used to be there were often 2 Channel H/C and even some of the earlier single channel hand-wired amps going for around $1K, and now the 2 channels are more and the hw amps are $2K+. There’s a guy across the state from me who had a paisley MDT and matching 2x12 going for almost $4K... cool amp, but for $4K, I can get whatever new amp PRS comes out with next. There’s rumor of some kind of HXDA revival.

Speaking of amp prices, don’t even get me started on the time I passed on a NOS Sweet 16 head for $400. Thanks to Sweetwater for pulling that one out of retirement last year, so I could atone for my sins (for an extra $1000, to be precise). Worth it.

A mere grand?

You're lucky! To atone for my sins I'd need the gross national product of a medium sized country.
