Hurricane Sandy

The storm surge in the Bay near Stevensville is supposed to be about 4-5 ft. That's not good for most of that area. I'd be surprised if the factory is open today or tomorrow. Gov. in MD is being pretty clear that he wants things shut down and buttoned up across the State by this afternoon.

I'm not completely sure but I do think the factory is closed. I live about an hour and a half or so west of factory and its raining pretty hard and wind blowing but I'm sure its alot worse there especially considering that the factory is so close to the bay.

This is not even close to starting and this is how things look now...

Home and dry for now. No more victims - er - patients today. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Everything here is soaked and the winds aren't at maximum yet. Rain outside starts and stops in heavy bits.

I hope folks are staying safe wherever you are. I've got family in Queens and Long Island but so far so good for them as they ride the storm out. How are things in MD? Power still on?

All schools, gov't offices and most everything else closed already here in MD. Eastern Shore, Kent Island area will be a mess with the storm surge. Water levels are already above the peak storm surge from Irene last summer, not looking good. Stay safe in Stevensville. We'll be hunkered down in Montgomery County.

JMintzer and rugerpc - Cancel those appointments and go home, not worth it, things will start to deteriorate quickly this afternoon. Looks like peak winds starting to kick in but early evening tonight.

Stay safe.

Not to worry. I've been home since 1:00... Snug and dry...

There is no better perspective on this thing than (edit) a pic like this. I was about to whine a bit about our power flickering on and off. I think I'll just shut up for a while and give these men my respect.

edit: not sure now if the pic was this week, so I'm not passing the pic along. I do still respect these guys who suck it up and work hard during adversity.

Just been reading there's some 'fake' Sandy photos being posted on F'book and Twitter.

Not sure if this site is referring to the one above:

It looks like that one 'may' have been taken in September, with this one being today:

Not too imporatant in the grand scheme of things, those guys still deserve a lot of respect!

Not too sure if this is a genuine one or not, not looking great for NY's subway system...

Wouldn't be too surprising if true as I heard the storm surge was pretty much as high as they feared.

Cool photo for sure, but it's been photoshopped. I've seen that storm on APOD (Astronompy Photo of the Day). I was going to get it to compare but the site is down, server must be located in NY. The real hurricane is 800 miles wide.

I saw that photo today with the Marshmellow Man from Ghostbusters on it.

Yup, some people have nothing better to do in the middle of such an emergency. Pretty funny anyways..

OK, THAT photo is real. I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a kangaroo and this is real. Besides it is on the interweb and you are not allowed to post anything there that isn't true.

BTW- I'm a French model.... (belch, "bonjoir")
