Saw this advertised in the May issue of Premier Guitar.
And since some of my friends have nicknamed me "Mr Gadget", I must check them out :D
Going to order a few sensors, and install the app on my Android to keep tabs on my S2 Custom 22 Semi--Hollow, and my 408 when they are cased up during the week.
Might get one later for the Angelus too.

Humiditrak - Bluetooth Humidity and Temperature Sensor

This works with both IOS and Android devices.
  • Monitor humidity, temperature & impact
  • View status of all your instruments on one easy-to-read display
  • Receive push notifications of hazardous conditions
  • Free App available in the iTunes App Store and Google Play
  • CR2032 battery included. Maximum battery life of 2 years.
Amazon has these too in case anyone is an Amazonian like me.

Multiple readings on the same view pane in your app

It can also detect shock to your case/guitar

Thanks Corey, that's going to be a must-have for me, at the very least for my acoustic!

You are welcome Les.
I ordered it, but may cancel.
I downloaded the Android app and you have to reg with D'Addario and create an account, and when I try my keyboard will not open.
I am going to post in the review section on Amazon as a D'Addario rep answers questions there, and I will see if they have a solution for me.

You might want to get the app first and try it out.
I could also try the app on my iPad Air, but I really would like it working on my phone.

OK, I bet I can create the account on my iPad, then just use the login credentials on my Android.
I will report back in a bit if that works or not.

OK, all is good.
ANd if you search the Apple Store with an iPad, you have to choose iPhone only in the drop down menu, and do not input Humiditrak, but just type in D'Addario only, and you will find it amongst other apps from them.

I let Jim know this at D'Addario, so hopefully they fix it soon.
Also on my Android I found to activate the onscreen keyboard I had to press a bit below where you would normally type.
Also your password must contain at least on capital letter, or it will not work.
The info that tells you this disappears very quick, but I got it to work.

Now all I need is the device and to pair it, it will arrive on Monday.

Make sure you can get the app going first though by installing it first like I did.

You are welcome.
I went for just one to see how I like it, and if it gets my approval, I will order a few more.

Mine is working great, got it setup with the guitars name, serial number, purchase date, value, etc.
Just have to mount it in the case, then I am off to order two more.
Very easy to pair, you pull out a plastic sheet from its battery with the app open and Bluetooth turned on, and after 30 seconds, it is paired and waiting for your info to type in.

Les, on the Two Way Humidification system you are using now, are you using it just for your acoustic, or do you have it in one of your electric cases too?
If in the latter also, are you just using the headstock pouch?

Within the app for the gadget I bought, it says the ideal humidity range should be between 40% and 50%, and the ideal temp for a guitar should be between 72° and 77°.

I will get a snapshot of my phones screen with the app this coming weekend when I have all three units running, and showing how it looks.
You can also use custom pictures of your own showing your guitars instead of using their generic icons for a guitar or other instruments you are tracking.
Too bad these units do not have a GPS tracker built into them too.

Took a picture of the Humiditrak and Two Way Humidification System inside of my case for my SE Custom 22 Semi-Hollow.
The former is mounted near the end of the case, and the latter the humidification pouch lays inside of a black bag.

Here are some screen shots from my phone telling about the safe range for humidity and temperature.

Here is the home screen showing the sensors I have for each of the three guitars I have setup so far.

And lastly a screen capture of the daily readout for both humidity %, and the temperature inside of the case.
The temps inside of the cases is kind of high, as it is around 80.3° inside of my home, and 82.3° outside as of 4:30.
Yep, it is a warm one today, looking for cool down tomorrow.

So far I am pretty happy with both items.
Inside of the two electric guitar cases I am only using one of the humidity packs inside of the pouch.
For the acoustic guitar I have one near the head stock, and also using a double bag that hold two more of the humidification packs, and it is held in place by the strings and drops down inside of the sound hole.

You can use pics you have on your phone, or within the app you can also take a fresh pic to use for your guitars profile.
I also have the app on my iPad Air, but you have to hold it in portrait mode, and I have an LED keyboard attached to my iPad, so it makes it kind of difficult.
Also some of the text is cutoff for the description of the guitars.
It is actually an iPhone app, they should really make one for the iPad too, and let you run it in both portrait and landscape mode.
The latter would be great since I have the attached keyboard on my iPad.

Hope this info helps any of you who might be deciding to take the plunge and try both of these items out.
One more thing, the Bluetooth range is around 100' so when you take your phone further away, you loose connection, but the sensor has memory that can track up to 22 days, then it can dump the data to your phone.

But...a cool thing I (you) can do is leave the iPads app running near your cases.
You can be on the other side of the world and open up the app on your iPhone or Android phone, and login to your account, and your phone is updated right away as the info is stored in their cloud via your login credentials.
