Hum w/ 57/08 Pickups?

I just plugged in my newly bought Modern Eagle 25th Anniversary with 57/08 and my pickups are exhibiting noticeable hum! I don't know what to do. I have about 3:bawling: weeks left on a GC return, but I love the action and looks of this guitar. The 57's are very bright - brighter than my 2001 PRS 24 with ??? PUP?s Any advice?

just need to ask, did you hear hum on it when you demo'd at the store? Also, if the guitar tech at your GC is very good, have him take a look. sounds like a grounding issue. that 25th has been on the wall a while, and demo'd alot. the jack could be the issue. Just my 2 cents.

i have had "captain obvious " moments with my multi effects board and have had hum. output connection keep working it's way out!!!:iamconfused: almost return a fender blues jr cause i thought it was defective.

That could happen if the pickups were in split mode. It's worth checking if the tone knob is pulled up or whether somehow its coil-split switch isn't wired to spec.

+1 - that would account for the hum and the excessive brightness.

Preferably a top of the line cable which comes with a lifetime warranty.
