I'm retired so I can ship the same day or next day. Never later than that.

Seems like quick shipping and a truthful listing is the way to get good feedback.

Exceed people's expectations.

Course there are exceptions.

Bought something week before last, UPS listed it as shipped and would be here on the 14th.

No show.

No show the next day either.

Contacted the seller and boy did he get POed! I wound up getting a refund and then reporting him for abusive language.

Said he had a life and was just to busy and hadn't bothered to ship it at all!

I told him any responsible seller would not wait a week to ship.

Just venting.

Don't enjoy getting cursed out first thing in the morning by some knucklehead I don't even know.

That would piss me off, too. If you can’t ship within a day, don’t list it. I get it if something gets in the way way, like you’re out of town, or something. Just let the buyer know.

As for me, I communicate and ship to meet the expectations I would have as a buyer. When something I listed sells I mess the buyer thanking them for the order, and let them know when I expect to ship, usually no later than the next day.

I Don't Sell Much But When I Am Selling Something It Is Boxed Up Properly And Ready To Go Out When I Get Payment. I Don't Believe I Have Ever Shipped The Next Day Or Later Ever. If Somebody Has Made The Effort To Give Me Money The Right And Honorable Thing For Me To Do Is Get Them What They Paid For Right Away. Do The Right Thing And Ship Right Away. My $.02

This. Communication is key if you’re not shipping by the next day.

As I purchased several guitars on Reverb and can relate to excitement about the impending delivery, I ship the day after payment is made. I work from home so it's a bit easier for me than if I had a full-time in the office type of job. I also get the packing materials ready when I list it just to avoid those types of delays.

The last time I sold a guitar, I was on a camping trip when it was purchased. I simply messaged the buyer and explained.

I try to ship as soon as possible. I get that not everyone can do that. I’ve been buying and selling through the Internet for over 25 years. I’ve learned that not everyone has the same priorities that I do or capabilities. I’m ok with that when I buy from a private party. I don’t imagine they’re a business and I do imagine they‘re just a normal person getting through life.

If I needed something quickly, I’d never buy it online from a private seller.

Same day if I can. You never know what will happen once the carrier gets it. Going through a situation now where I sold a set of pups this past Tuesday, promised the buyer I’d get them out that day (which I did) and expected delivery from MA to WA was 2 days. 5 days now, and tracking shows they’re somewhere in FL. :( Been in contact with buyer today, and he’s a lot more understanding because he knows I got them out right away.

wow. i ship next day regardless of what is going on. if a seller is too busy to get to a shipper they should bite the bullet and schedule a pickup. highly unfortunate that you missed out on a guitar though.
