How much is too much price wise for a PRS 10 top?

Sooo I found an early PRS Singlecut in the Whale Blue that is non faded and the guitar is all stock. The guitar comes with the original hardshell case, but no hang tags. The only issue is, they want $3k for the guitar b/c it's a 22 year old 10 top PRS, and they refuse to budge on the guitar. I have shown them listings of other singlecuts that have sold for way less and they are not hearing it. Should I hold out and hope they drop the price, or is this guitar worth their asking price. I just thought some other's opinions b/c the used guitar market seems to be in a wonky place right now. I have also provided pictures of the actual guitar for reference.

It’s worth 3k to somebody, I’ll tell you that much. Maybe not to 95% of potential buyers, but someone will pay them that.

Now, it might take too long for them to find that customer and as such they might drop the price. But maybe not. Every (good) guitar finds her player.

And let’s face it, you might get it for a couple of hundred bucks less somewhere down the road, but will you get it for so much less that it will really matter? Asuming you really really love that guitar…

as with all things collectible , value is determined by selling price , 3K is a bit steep , but not outrageous . If you love THIS guitar buy it. I always ask myself one BIG question before every purchase .. will I REGRET NOT buying it ? I've let a few slip past and kick myself for it ... you can always sell it later...
if you like blue for a bit more ... $3499 Artist pkg ...

Now that’s worth the $$$:)

Used PRS pricing is definitely all over the place right now for sure.
You scored a great deal on the purple one a couple days back.
Depends how badly you want this one I think.
10 tops do command a bit more usually but again there are 10 top examples under $2k to be had.
And well over $3k to so....
So it's really a decision only you can make.

I really do like, and want that guitar. It is just taking longer to make up mind b/c 1) It's in the UK and would need to be shipped to the U.S
2) The price

Nice looking axe
Sounds like it isn’t worth it to you, or you would be posting it new guitar day instead. There will be one that works for you. Ask them to call you if they change their mind and keep shopping.
It's not that it's not worth it. It's just hard to make a decision when the prices on used early singlecuts are all over the place. The guitar is in the U.K. and would need to be shipped. I replied back and told them if they change their mind to let me know.
I wouldn't pay $3k for it. Sounds a bit steep. I'd keep looking.

I'm glad someone is able to agree with me and the pricing, and thank you for the compliment on the purple Singlecut...it will be here tomorrow, but unfortunately I work tll Saturday morning.
I really do want the guitar, I'm gonna have to do some number crunching to see if I can make this happen. I sold my 2018 Custom 24 Black Gold Burst wrap to purchase the Puple Singlecut, and I don't want to have to sell something else to purchase this one.

I know generally speaking around here we're all about "more guitars!", but I'd say you just bought a really nice one, that you haven't even gotten to play yet. Spend some time with that, get to know and love it and just keep your eyes on the listings. There will be other Whale Blue singlecuts available in the future

If you really like the guitar see if you can deal with them a different way as they’re paying Reverb fees and have to keep that in mind when they list, not defending just explaining. If it’s a shop they might take PayPal directly just a thought. I should add when shopping for used gear especially something Ive been wanting I would always be willing to pay a little more for condition.

I'd pass. Definitely overpriced. They can hold out and want what they want all day, but that doesn't mean they will ever get it. Check out the verb and all the massive price slashes. Same is happening on CL. By overpaying I feel like I'm part of the problem. There are plenty of great guitars out there and there will always be another, always.

Step away from the PRS pipe.. the addiction is real! :)

For me, that particular one would NOT be worth $3000. The blue is too dark and I don't care for the black neck and back.

I had a '02 Custom 22 in Whale Blue with the black back, and I would have preferred a wood stain and finish rather than the look of the opaque black neck and back

But this one was rediculously pretty ;-)

Oh, I didn’t realize that you would be importing it from another continent. Then I would pass. Too many possible problems and $$$. I would wait until something comes up a little closer to home, because at some point…one will. And it will be a sweeter deal.

Good point!
I'm really jealous... Your should see the prices of PRS guitars here in Europe. 3000$ would be a high price for a CE 24, but an awesome one for a mint core... Not even talking about a 10 top!
I feel ya, this guitar is in the U.K, so I would need to ship it to the U.S.

It's not listed on Reverb, I found it forsale while surfing Google looking around. The shop it is for sale in, is in the U.K.

Yeah I've been seeing alot of massive price slashes, on Reverb, Marketplace, and CL. Of course you have the few, the proud on there as well who refuse to budge, yet their stuff has been on my watch lists for almost 2yrs now.
In regards to the PRS pipe...I don't even like it, and I can quit whenever I want!

There is a 245 I am watching with a natural finished backside, but it's all beat to crap.

True about the possibilities of problems, or the guitar arriving with problems. I would be using PayPal to pay, so I would like to thing I would be protected.

There’s a few nice core singlecuts FS on the gear page. $2200 for one, the other was $2500 .. Us musicians on TGP tend to keep our prices reasonable. Others there and on Reverb with the much higher prices are many times just flippers or guitar owners…
