How many play outside on their porches/decks?

Nice day here today, high 70s to 80s.
Took my little Roland Microcube Bass amp, iPod, and the Kingfisher out to my front deck and jammed along to some AC/DC for about 45 minutes.
Nothing like some fresh air and sun while playing.
Got some compliments from the neighbors too ;)

Gives me a chance too to play with my thumb or two fingers.
I find the best sound is with my thumb and plucking between the two pickups, and I like the sound of the neck pickup better, has more punch.
I am just the opposite with the guitar, I like the bridge pickups the best for high gain and barre chords.

I tried playing on the deck once. Cops showed up. I said, "Man, ain't this something? I'm just trying to enjoy myself outside and maybe play a tune or two, but you guys just can't let it happen, can you? Can't a guy play a few tunes on the deck?"

The cop said, "Sir, this isn't your home or your deck..."

I play acoustic out on the deck once in awhile. Too much work taking much else out(besides some coffee or beer).

Yeah, that is what i like about the little portable battery operated amps I own.
I also have the Roland Microcube and Yamaha THR 10X for the guitars when I want to play them outside as well.
Both of those other two amps can do bass too, but I prefer the Microcube Bass for that as it has 4 4" speakers in it and sounds better.
I just cannot turn it up to loud outside as the bass carries.
I even had squirrels watching me playing yesterday :D

I tried it a couple times as a teenager, but the cops always came. Heck, it was hard enough to avoid getting the cops called when we played inside.

Where I live now, the houses are so close together I'd probably start an impromptu block party.

I haven't played outdoors since going to the U of Mich alumni camp with my son 14 years ago. It was fun, though we played acoustic guitars.

I did it a few times, but every time i did the neighbors dogs ran away.
