One that I actually use: '95 Fender Blues Deluxe, and...

Two that I neglect: '66 Super Reverb and '05 Valvetech 50W 2x12 combo.

I went through a phase where I thought the Blues Deluxe wasn't adequate for gigs, so I went bigger and bigger, but now I think the bigger amps are overkill for most applications.

I currently have two amps:

Mesa Boogie Trem-O-Verb 2X12 Combo (Extremley Heavy to move around)
Two Rock 10th Anniversary Head and Matching 2X12 Cabinet

But I'm really wanting a HXDA in the worst way!! I may have to go ahead and pull the trigger on that here soon.

Three for me:

- 50 watt PRS Original Sewell 2x12
- 100 watt PRS Dallas 2x12
- 1958 all original tweed Fender Harvard

Here are some of mine...

2Channel "H" and Custom MDT (TGS 410-B)

Crazy! I just saw a listing for a used one for $ 899.99
Whats up....

Quote from Clayton H (3/21/12):

So, today I go meet this guy to sell him a pedal. It turns out he is a vintage guitar and amp dealer.

We start talking about amps and some of the new stuff that's out there now, and I find myself saying..."You should give the new Carvin amp a go. It's a good little amp...three channels...reverb........................and it's only 600 bucks." I had to stop myself before I could tell him it had a boost on every channel and was made in America!

Breaking News! Flash! This just in!!!

Les likes his HX/DA amp. A lot.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

You and I have VERY similar tastes in amps, TAJ! I had a first year Tremoverb that was my main studio amp for about ten years, until my son started "borrowing" it, and he gigged it until he was well into college.

I've also had several Two-Rocks that were wonderful amps - Onyxes and CRS v. 2 and 3. Had a bunch of other amps, but the two you have were my absolute faves for a long time.

If you like those amps, I think you'll also dig the HX/DA. It's got character and a "wow" factor like the T-verb and TR, but in a different direction. It'd nicely compliment your other rigs.

So very true. Lately I can't get enough of amps.

I don't think there's ever been a love like Les's with his HX/DA. Inspiring.

Love is a many splendored thing!

Seriously, I love the tones I can dial in. Here's why:

Cleans? Stellar enough that I recorded a rockabilly track with it last month with a little slapback delay. Clear as a Twin.

In December, I got it gainy enough for the Ford F-150 campaign that runs constantly.

I just finished an alt-rock track with it kind of crunchy for a GM car ad, and a pop track getting that "edge of grit" thing for another client.

Used it with the SC58 to get kind of an Allman solo tone for a track my partner wrote for an industrial video.

And all the tones were exactly what I needed, sounded great, and sat in the mixes perfectly. If I had another amp, even a very good one, it would sit unused. What I should do is buy a backup of this one.

Can you post a youtube of the Ford F-150 commercial Les??

Just go to our website, and scroll to the video player on the splash page, it's the first thing on the player (we've done quite a few different versions of this ad, all with Dennis Leary's voice-over):

In the voice of Arnold Horshack.....

"Very Impressive, Mr. Shefman!

Who would guess that this man is over 700 years old...and is currently in Eastern Europe on a top secret mission. How does he find the time to do this, and still manage his production business? Only Les knows the answer to that. But be careful...if he told you..he'd have to kill you!
