I'm halfway through an aesthetic overhaul of my alder ce24, still waiting on new parts. Aside from playing scars what have you changed on your prs to make it yours?
I'm sure some of you have already seen it but for the folks who have not, this was how I made my McSoapy "mine":
1) Routed stoptail bridge for 2Tek bridge by Mike H. @ 2Tek (with unplated brass saddles by request)
2) Thorn Stapletop Humbuckers to replace the stock Duncan P90's
3) PLEK'd Stainless steel refret and new bone nut courtesy of Phil Jacoby @ Philtone
4) Lime metallic refin courtesy of Chris Bavaria
5) Gotoh magnum locking tuners
6) Bought an older leather PRS Artist case since this one was pretty special to me
6) Need to snap an updated headstock shot but I was going for a "Predator" theme on this one, so I had Bill Nichols of Nichols Inlay make a custom Predator TRC for me! <3
The end product on this one is something I will treasure for a long time, basically a Private Stock without going through the PS Program. PRS put out a killer guitar and I modified it to make it perfect for me! One of my absolute favorite PRS and still one of my favorite guitars in my collection to boot! :congrats:
1. Ancient guitar-acquisition rites (including ritual 'discussion' with spouse) performed at the Temple of Zhhoom, followed by The Act of Check Writing.
2. Performed the Luggage Tag Buckling ceremony onto case using Luggage Tag With My Name On It in front of 2 witnesses, while repeating the mantra, "This is mine" at least 3 times; Thistle of Fealty sent to the Laird of the Manor, P. Smith.
3. Removed case candy from the accessory compartment and did the Holy Put Your Own Stuff In There sacrament following 12 hours kneeling before the Altar of Tone.
4. Most important: Posted NGD, with the obligatory pictures.. And a review.
5. After expiration of the Sacred Waiting Period, sent guitar to PTC for tuneup.
These Acts of Fealty and Ownership made the guitar mine. No modifications necessary.
Getting new pickup rings, the 4 missing gold screws for the rings, gold trem screws, modding the electrics and I'm thinking of a different neck pickup. I would like gold pole pieces too. Would that be overkill?
