How guitar players suffer

I don't know... I can play guitar solos as well as that, but I can't write a song as good and as popular as "Shake It Off" or some sh!t.

I think his girl has a point.

1. That was more of a solo or lick and not a riff that the guy was playing...but I digress.
2. I'm with you Mr. DeBlanc. In all honesty, I know a lot of guys who are masters of the fretboard, but when it comes to writing a song that's decent, they just can't. So Ms. Swift's fingers may not be that fast on the fretboard (you know where I was really going to go there) but she knows how to write a decent song that's appealing to many ears.

Yeah, that bothered me too. There's big difference in the amount of interest I'd invest with somebody who's showing me a riff, for like a proposed chorus or verse for a song, verses the amount I'll pay to watch somebody wankin' off.

I know we all do it, but I've taken public transit enough to know that nobody else appreciates seeing anybody else wankin' it.
