How do you read the PRS tags at Guitar Center

The guitar tags at Guitar Center never offer specific information on the exact neck shape. They all just say that the neck is "comfortable." And the Guitar Center sales people are almost humorously uninformed. They confidently tell you that the Pattern Regular is the same as the former "Wide Thin" or something else equally misinformed. On each PRS, there IS an extended part number on the tag. Is there some secret code to figure out whether a guitar is a "Pattern Thin" or "Pattern Regular" etc? It would be nice to know, and every Guitar Center sales rep I've talked to has seemed very under-trained, or simply wrong.

The correct answer is "with a grain of salt."

The GC tags are often inaccurate, alot of cut-n-paste + salespeople who are not well-trained (generally) on PRSdom = look it up on the website yourself from your smartphone in the store if you can.

We'll I bought a McCarty from gc first they gave me a beat up case that they wiped down so I went back complaining they gave me a new case with wrong case candy and a gold tremolo arm. IMHO I would buy from a reputable prs dealer, there's my two cents.

If I'm serious about buying a PRS guitar from their core line and I want to know the fine details, I will absolutely ask them to dig out the case so I can see the PRS hang tag. Especially when I'm buying a guitar from a GC in another state and all I have to go by are crappy cell phone photos.
