Ok, maybe wrong place to ask such a dumb question, but thinking of grabbing a mint used one for $400.

And I pulled the plug on selling my CU24-7...keeping it, killer guitar... just need to figure out a use for the 7th string !

Loving these SE`s.

You know - it's not as hard to figure as you might think.

When the 7 came out, I wasn't all that interested at first. I'd tried a couple 7-stringers in stores, but couldn't really make heads or tails out of how I'd use one. Went to one of Emil's clinics at Experience, played around with one there, still - couldn't see how it would work for me.

About 3 weeks or so after that, I was thinking about it again in the shower (of all places - WAY too much low-end in there!), and all of a sudden, it clicked. It was another 8-9 months before I pulled the trigger on one, but it suddenly made sense as to how I could use it. I've since used it on several different kinds of recordings, and it's worked on all of them. And with a slight change from standard tuning, you've got an axe dropped down to B-tuning with a high E-string. That is one thing I haven't played with yet, but it's on the list.
